The Brotherhood of Nod is a largely obscure organization, rumored to have been created over 2000 years ago. During the Second Great Depression caused by the loss of American dependence on oil, the Brotherhood came to power in Russia and China, and used the countries' vast resources for their own diabolical plans. The threat of Nod led to the creation of GDI, and their tests of Nuclear-Tiberium Weapons has caused the latest world war.

Nod is led by a man known only as Kane. Kane has a messianic reputation to his followers, and this reputation gives him great power. It has been GDI's goal to eliminate Kane in hopes of killing the Brotherhood.
